The Kraken have made their first great move this offseason.
When the Kraken inked their new broadcast deal with Amazon Prime and KING/KONG, they moved off ROOT Sports and on to their own produced broadcast. Alison Lukan, John Forslund, Eddie Olcyzk, and Nick Olczyk are Kraken employees and moved over without issue. Piper Shaw, however, was an employee of ROOT Sports and we weren’t sure what her future held.
Today, the Seattle Kraken announced that Piper will be part of the broadcast.
Piper Shaw is an integral part of hockey’s best broadcast. She asks thoughtful questions and tries to get out meaningful information from players (not an easy task!) instead of just regurgitating the same questions over and over again eliciting the same cliche answers. She is a master of her craft.
This also means the Piper and Alison Experience rolls on, as Piper and Kraken analyst Alison Lukan travel the country getting into hilarious hijinks and wacky adventures together.
The entire band is back together and I couldn’t be happier about it.
