The final man for the Kraken’s 2024 draft is Czeching in!
The Kraken selected Jakub Fibigr from the Mississauga Steelheads in the OHL, though he also has ties to HC Vitkovice in Czechia.
Fibigr is best described as a 200 foot skater, who generally was expected to go by most rankings about a hundred spots sooner, at least according to EliteProspects’s aggregate. Their draft guide says this:
Fibigr’s strongest asset is his skating, which he uses to excel in transition. He’s both a capable puck carrier and an adept and aggressive rush defender, often stepping up physically at his own blueline to neutralize the rush.

Arright, that seems like a reasonable kid for 202nd! Especially if a good portion of the prognosticators seem to like him! Granted, it will likely take him a hot minute to ever make the big leagues, but won’t it be such fun if he does?
