I hope you’re ready for a little preseason action…in three months!

The Kraken have announced their preseason schedule, which features the usual stable of our immediate neighbors north as foes. The preseason begins on September 22nd for the Kraken, and features the following games:

  • 9/22: Calgary Flames at home
  • 9/24: Vancouver Canucks on the road
  • 9/27: Vancouver Canucks at home
  • 9/28: Edmonton Oilers on the road
  • 9/30: Calgary Flames on the road
  • 10/2: Edmonton Oilers at home

As per usual, Preseason is the time in the NHL season is more or less an extension of training camp, and usually more for the prospects in the AHL to show if they’re ready for the big leagues. As our coverage of the Firebirds showed; we’d be primarily looking at Shane Wright and Ryan Winterton making their big pushes for a spot on the Kraken, but guys like David Goyette, Lleyton Roed, Jani Nyman, and Jagger Firkus could also impress Dan Bylsma enough to maybe get the nod. It’s unlikely, but it’s definitely possible!

No neutral site games yet, but given their popularity in the NHL preseason, it’s only a matter of time before the Kraken play a preseason game somewhere else in the region that isn’t CPA.

Times have yet to be posted, so we will update this when the games receive them.
