Kraken sign Oscar Fisker Mølgaard to 3 Year ELC worth $950k AAV

The youth movement throughout the Kraken depth chart continues with a Dane!

The Kraken PR account and main team account announced today that Seattle has signed Danish forward and 2023 2nd round pick Oskar Fisker Mølgaard to a waivers-exempt Entry Level Contract worth $950,000 AAV.

Mølgaard has been playing in the SHL with the club HV71 in Jönköping and internationally with team Denmark, and honestly he’s been pretty solid with them: being 6th on his team in scoring this year with 21 points in 50 games, and 9 goals. HV71 wasn’t exactly great this year, and narrowly avoided relegation to the Allsvenskan in a 7 game battle against Oskarshamn. But dont fret! For a guy who’s 19? That statline in the “full of grown men” SHL is pretty damn good, as that’s actually good for 3rd overall among SHL skaters under 20 years old. Not a bad season at all for the young man, even with the relegation scare at the end of it!

As for where he plays next year, he’s eligible to stay with HV71, join the Firebirds, or try for a spot on the Kraken if he’s really feeling spicy and can have a good camp this September. Given that he’s 20, they don’t have to rush this whatsoever.

Lets all bid a hearty Vilkommen til Seattle to Oscar!
