Kraken select Oliver Josephson (C) 105th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft

CENTERS. GIVE ME CENTERS. IT IS ALL I CRAVE.

The Kraken with their 4th round selection decided on Oliver Josephson of the Red Deer Rebels, a 6’1, 190 pounder from BC who shoots left.

According to EliteProspects.com’s draft guide, Josephson is a furiously hard-working center whose shutdown capabilities make him a real danger out on the ice. Per their words:

Josephson is a shutdown centre who outworks the opponents he can’t outsmart. He charges back into the play, overwhelming the puck carrier with an endless barrage of lifts, swipes, grabs, and hits. His feet never stop moving, allowing him to skate through the hands and win the positioning battle.

Also noteworthy in that Oliver’s rankings generally had him in the 90s, so maybe the Kraken have something in this young man that’s useful!

Let’s all welcome Oliver to The Deep!
